Thank you everyone for your input on the poll. I’ve worked very hard to create this specific atmosphere for the translation, and I think I will go with my instincts to try to maintain it as best as I can.

Please stay safe with all the coronavirus cases rising.

I would love to get your opinions on a translation decision that I need to make. Bloodlines Ablaze has a very strong British/European-inspired fantasy setting, but there are some very obvious Japanese anachronisms that show up and personally throw me out of the story: things like bowing profusely to apologize. Yes, it’s fantasy, so there are no rules, but it is also very strongly Western-inspired. How would you prefer to see the Japanese anachronisms? Remove/smooth them out? Or keep them in? I’d love to hear your opinions! I’m personally leaning towards removing/smoothing them out.

How should I handle Japanese anachronisms in Bloodlines Ablaze?

  • Keep them in. (67%, 16 Votes)
  • Remove or smooth them out. (33%, 8 Votes)
