Chapter 13: Both For You (5)
After the broadcast of Monday’s show at the beginning of the week, Tatsuki came up to Kei and said, “Excuse me.”
“Is there anything wrong?”
There were people milling around the studio, and so Kei had to maintain his elegant “Kunieda Kei” facade. Tatsuki was the usual Tatsuki, but he didn’t make any mention of what had happened over the weekend.
“The recording session that I had for my narration job didn’t go so well,” Tatsuki sighed loudly. “It was my first time working on a serious, introspective type of documentary. The director said that he was looking for a bit of a mismatch between the subject and the narrator, so that was why he had chosen me, but maybe I’m too much of a mismatch. It’s also a really long piece, and I couldn’t keep it even all the way through… They weren’t happy with it and told me to study up and try again. Kunieda-san, do you remember the documentary that you narrated two years ago? The one about restoring Buddhist statues?”
“Hmm, yes, I do.”
“Apparently, it’s the perfect example of what the director had in mind. I went over to the library to see if I could borrow it, but it was already on loan. I was wondering if you had a copy of the DVD that I could borrow.”
“I have a copy,” Kei replied. With a gentle smile, he suggested, “Would you like to stop by my place to borrow it?”
“Huh? Is it really ok?”
“Yes. You’re running up against a deadline, aren’t you? Then you should pick it up as soon as possible.”
Kei didn’t know if they could work out a resolution, but he couldn’t let things remain as they were. Even if the DVD was an excuse, Kei would take advantage of the opportunity to talk to Tatsuki in private.
When they called a taxi, Kei preemptively took the front passenger seat and reluctantly took Tatsuki home with him. This was the first time he let anyone into his apartment other than Ushio, and he felt his fingers stiffen up in guilt as he inserted the key. But then he told himself, No, no no, I’m not doing anything wrong. I just need to talk to him and settle things.
“Pardon the intrusion! Oh, hey!! You have all the volumes for Hunter x Hunter! Can I read it?”
Tatsuki showed no sign of nervousness.
“Touch my things and I’ll kill you.”
“Whoa, what an instant transformation the moment that we’re alone.”
“Shut up. Sit down on the sofa. Behave and try not to breathe.”
“Do you want to kill me off that badly?”
“Of course I do.”
Kei searched for the DVD on his media rack and tossed the plastic case like a frisbee towards Tatsuki.
“Whoa, that was close… Um, thanks a lot. When do I need to return it?”
“I don’t need it back.”
“Really? Lucky me!”
“Hey, move over to the end of the sofa.”
Tatsuki shuffled to one corner of the sofa, and Kei sat down on the other end.
“This is kinda unnatural.”
“I don’t care.”
“Is your bedroom over there?”
“Why the hell are you asking!?”
“Oh, I was just curious. Has Tsuzuki-san ever been here before? He probably has… Can I ask how the romance got started between you two?”
“I really like him. He’s handsome, easy-going, and fun to talk to.”
Don’t tell me, he’s really after Ushio?
Tatsuki saw Kei getting agitated and clarified, “I don’t mean it that way. Kunieda-san, I bet you’ve never truly been in love before.”
“I don’t want to hear that from a damn player who flirts with anything that moves.”
“Did Tsuzuki-san say anything about me?”
“You were saying something about when he gets back, so I figured that meant he was away somewhere. But you still told him about everything, right?”
Tatsuki turned his body towards Kei and stared at him, his elbow resting on the back of the sofa. It looked like his gaze was focused on Kei’s throat, where his necktie was neatly fastened.
Kei was exhausted. He wanted to change out of his suit and switch back into his private mode. He roughly pushed his bangs up with his fingers and repeated Ushio’s question to him. “He asked me what I would do if you told me that you would keep quiet in exchange for going out with you.”
Tatsuki blinked and pointed a finger at Kei. “I never thought of that,” he exclaimed. “That would work! I like it!”
“No fucking way!!”
Dammit, why did he have to have the same reaction?
Kei would never admit it, but they probably had the same “clever but stupid” vector pointing them in the same direction.
“Well, but I guess there’s no meaning in coercing you to go out with me.”
See? There was nothing to worry about.
Kei’s heart only settled for a moment before Tatsuki continued, “But Kunieda-san, you don’t hate me as much you say, do you?”
“Where do you get that self-confidence from? Do you believe that there’s no one in the world who wouldn’t like you?”
“It’s nothing that dramatic, but I’m confident that I’d know when someone seriously hates me from the bottom of their heart.”
Seriously, where do you get your self-confidence from, you cocky little brat?
Kei wanted to spew insults like a machine gun, but even if he were to release his natural instinct to lash out in retaliation, it wouldn’t help matters to move forward. It annoyed him, but Tatsuki seemed to have a grasp on Kei’s personality.
Kei bit back his objections and turned to look Tatsuki in the eye.
“Who the fuck said to close your eyes!?” Kei yelled.
And who the fuck said you could move your face closer!?
“But I thought you were gonna kiss me.”
“Want me to sew your damn eyes shut, dumbass?”
But he didn’t break out into goosebumps.
Kei sighed. “That’s what I hate about you. You’re absolutely shameless, you know no fear, and you can get by pretty much anything on your damn charm alone.”
Then Kei confessed the feelings that he didn’t want to admit.
“It’s not that I want to become like you. But there’s a part of me that envies who you are. I think that’s why you irritate me so much when I see you.”
“Wow, I can’t believe Kunieda-san admires me so much! I’m gonna blush.”
“Don’t put words into my mouth, dammit.”
“But Kunieda-san, everyone wishes they could be more like you too. You’re kind and handsome and so good at your job.” Tatsuki closed the distance between them as he pushed himself over with a knee.
“…It’s all fake. Like a set for a TV show.”
“You created this image because you want to be seen a certain way. And you were successful. But if you’re still unhappy and you envy me because I can be myself without much thought, then maybe Tsuzuki-san isn’t enough to calm your insecurities or to satisfy your needs.”
Even with his back pushed up against the armrest, Kei couldn’t back down. “And you’re saying you can fulfill it?”
“I’m not saying that you need to break up with him to choose me.”
Tatsuki grabbed Kei’s wrist that was trapped against the back of the sofa. He was as close as the time when they had first met.
Kei’s heart didn’t feel anything, but he also wasn’t disgusted. Then because there was absolutely nothing there, he almost began to wonder if it might not be an entirely terrible idea. He didn’t know what to think about this haphazard mental leap in his brain.
Tatsuki said, “All I need is half. And since you have your two personalities, we can split it evenly. It’s not like I want to force you to do something you don’t want. Plus we have a pretty good alibi to cover us since we work at the same place. You can continue to go out with Tsuzuki-san, and you can go out with me. Wouldn’t that work? But, um, will Tsuzuki-san get angry?”
“He’s already angry.” Kei’s voice sounded hoarse. “He blew up and told me he’s not coming back.”
Maybe he had said it in the heat of the moment? But then again, Ushio was the type of person to hold true to his word. It probably wouldn’t affect his work or his lifestyle too drastically if he chose to leave Japan.
“Oh, then it’s perfect.”
“Fucker, you should at least feel a little bad about it.”
“I promise to take responsibility for it… Can I kiss you?”
“I don’t understand what you’re saying.”
“But you do understand,” Tatsuki said, refusing to let Kei off the hook, his tone sharper than usual. “Let’s do it, Kuneida-san. You probably don’t have the stomach to become the bad guy here, so you can blame it all on me.”
With Tatsuki’s tight grip on his wrist, Kei noticed that Tatsuki was sweating a little. He realized that maybe Tatsuki wasn’t as shameless as Kei thought he was. But it was a dangerous line of thinking because he could feel his stance starting to soften. Kei had only ever felt a heat and a passion directed at him from Ushio before.
“…I like you…a lot.”
I don’t like you, I don’t like you, I don’t like you.
His heart turned on his thoughts and shouted down all the other voices. He slowly closed his eyes, but he didn’t know if it was a defensive reaction to something infringing on his personal space.
“…I really can’t do it!!”
The moment that Kei shoved Tatsuki away with both of his hands, there was the sound of the front door unlocking. There was only one person who Kei had given a spare key to. The sound of footsteps came rushing into the apartment before the front door even closed, and the door separating the living room from the hallway flew open.
“Kunieda-san…” Tatsuki was a picture of calmness while shock was written all over Kei’s face. “You should remember to fasten your door chain.”
“That wouldn’t make me think that you were just taking shelter here.”
Ushio strode into the room, also appearing calm and composed.
“I suppose that’s true. But if we could avoid a carnage scene, I’d appreciate it.”
What the hell? How can he act so calm? Am I the only one about to vomit my guts out?
Anyway, Kei had to hurry and say something too, but a strange sense of panic overtook him as he opened his mouth.
“Hey, you said you weren’t coming back.”
Shit. That made it sound like Kei deliberately took a man back to the apartment while the husband was away on a business trip. Kei shrank back as Ushio glared at him.
“Oi, what did you just say?”
“I-It was a slip of the tongue…?”
“You’re a professional speaker. Don’t give me such a pathetic excuse.” Ushio pulled Kei by the arm and dragged him from the sofa to the floor. Then he knelt down and tucked a leg under each arm.
“Hey, wait, what the hell are you doing…?”
By the looks of their positions, he couldn’t be thinking of doing that, right!? It couldn’t be. But if it was a punishment…?
Kei shouted, “Stop it, stupid!!” and tried to struggle, but his legs were locked into place and he couldn’t escape.
“Do you think you have the right to say anything right now?”
“Please— Anything but this. I’m begging you, don’t make me do it in front of other people!”
Ushio took a deep breath and sighed. “You’re an idiot,” he said, twisting Kei’s legs over as he straddled Kei’s back, sitting down and locking the legs in the air as Kei lay face down on the floor.
“Owww… Fuck!!” Kei’s legs were bent towards the direction of his head, and his spine screamed in pain. “Idiot! Asshole! Let me go, you barbarian!!”
“I did say I was punishing you.”
“Wow, that was a really impressive move.”
Tatsuki had squatted down next to them like he was inspecting an anthill.
“Stop admiring and help me!” Kei yelled.
Why the hell is it me and not you being crushed by a pro-wrestling move!?
“Well, I’d be able to intervene if it were just punching or kicking, but I’m not sure what I should do about a Boston Crab… Should I throw a towel?”
“That goes for you too,” Ushio said.
“Come on! Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!!”
After making Kei scream for some time, Ushio seemed to be satisfied and released Kei’s legs. He didn’t budge from his position on top of Kei, however, and asked, “So, what happened?”
You’re heavy, idiot.
Ushio continued, “It must involve me too, right?”
“I tried to seduce Kunieda-san, and he seemed like he was considering it a little.”
He was far too truthful.
“Damn you, Minagawa—”
Kei had a giant boulder sitting on top of him, and he couldn’t move. He was able lift his head and support his torso up on his elbows when Ushio said with a threatening edge, “I don’t want to hear a word out of you.”
He turned back to Tatsuki. “So, what were you going to do if he considered it?”
“Well… I don’t necessarily need him to break up with you. I guess we’d each get half of him?”
“Half of him, huh?”
Kei tried his best to crane his neck to see what was happening behind him, but he could only see Ushio’s back.
“Minagawa-kun, even given the circumstances, I can’t really hate you.”
“—But you can go fuck yourself!!”
Ushio’s anger welled from the pit of his stomach, his yelling making even the windows appear to rattle. When he was on the phone, Ushio was nowhere as angry as he was now. “Half of him!? You’d be happy with half of him!? Seriously, go fuck yourself! Even if that’s what he really wanted, I’d never hand him over! Not to someone whose feelings are so fucking half-assed as yours! If you really loved him, you’d say you want all of him. What do you take your feelings for, huh? Do you think that love is that fucking shallow? That he’s that fucking shallow? Don’t seduce what’s mine, if that’s all that he is to you!”
Then Ushio called out, “Kei,” without turning around.
“If you’re only giving me half, then you’ll only get half too. I’ll go find someone else to take the other half. Is that okay with you?”
“No, it’s not okay.” Kei didn’t hesitate as he answered. “I would hate it.”
He laid his face on the floor, shaking his head as his cheek rubbed up against the cold, hard wood grain. Kei didn’t even want to think about Ushio possibly finding someone else. “If I had to share you with some other person, I’d go crazy…”
There was a heavy pressure crushing him and Kei wanted to cry, forcing anguished little murmurs to spill from his throat. He was so stupid. He hadn’t understood it until it came to this point.
He loved Ushio so deeply. The part of him that he only showed to the outside, the part of him that he kept hidden away, they both belonged to Ushio and not to anyone else. Everything was Ushio’s, and he couldn’t have it any other way.
“The same goes for me too.”
“Alright then.” Ushio gave a light pat to the back of Kei’s knee. “Don’t you have something you need to say to Minagawa?”
“Umm… get out?”
“No, dammit!” Ushio grabbed Kei’s legs again.
“Ow!! Ow, owwwww! Come on! Let me go!!”
“Even if it was only a tiny bit, you were the one who led him on, so you better apologize properly.”
“No, I don’t wanna! I hate apologizing!”
“Why, you, little…!”
“Ow, ow, ow, ow!!”
Kei slapped the floor with both hands as he cried out in agony. It was weird; two people had confessed to him, but weren’t the complications and the conflicts supposed to be more romantic than this? He was the one in the middle of the love triangle, but right now he was crying, held down in a body lock.
“Hey, it’s okay. Don’t worry about.” Tatsuki smiled wryly as he intervened. “I’m prepared to be hit for this, but I’d just like to ask that you avoid the face… But wow, I really can’t compare, you two really suit each other.”
It doesn’t make me happy to hear that given the current circumstances.
“If you try it again, I’ll punch you.”
“Understood, I won’t do it again. I give up.” Tatsuki raised his hand solemnly in the air as he made his promise.
“Good, then I believe you. But one final thing…”
“Can you stop having your damn conversation on top of me first!?”
Ushio ignored Kei and continued, “Could you keep quiet about him? I know that he’s an idiot, but I can’t change him, and I wouldn’t want him to change for the world. That’s why I want to do everything I can to protect him. …So please.”
“Oh, you don’t need to worry.” Tatsuki waved the DVD case in his hand like he was waving off the seriousness in Ushio’s voice. “No one would believe me if I were to spread rumors about Kunieda-san having two personalities. I’d probably lose face and get yelled at for trying to slander a senior colleague who had looked out for me so much. That’s how incredibly trusted he is at work.”
“Well, I’m gonna get going. Sorry for the intrusion! …In more ways than one.”
You didn’t need to add that last bit at the end, dammit.
Ushio saw Tatsuki to the door and locked up after him. When he returned to the living room, Kei was still lying face down on the floor.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Did it really hurt that much? Should I help put some Salonpas patches on you?”
Kei didn’t say a word and shook his head. There was a shallow pool of tears spreading on the floor beneath him. He couldn’t go on TV with swollen eyes, but the tears wouldn’t stop.
He never knew. Rather than getting yelled at, rather than getting his joints flexed to the limit, what crushed him the most was finding out just how much he was treasured. How Ushio, with all his being, thought about every bit and piece of Kei.
“Don’t cry, I only wanted to teach you a bit of a lesson.”
Taking the time and care that he rarely showed, Ushio carefully gathered Kei into his arms, helped him up to his feet, and led him to the bedroom as Kei continued to cry. Ushio helped Kei sit on the bed and tried to leave the room, but Kei grabbed a hold of his coat sleeve without thinking.
“I’m just going to the kitchen to get a cold pack.” Ushio wiped the tears from Kei’s cheeks and smiled. “You have to go on TV tomorrow.”
While Kei pressed a cold pack wrapped in a handkerchief over his eyes, Ushio gently stroked Kei’s head as he watched over him. Kei finally calmed down after a while, and when he timidly lifted his head, he saw such a gentle expression on Ushio’s face that he almost couldn’t bear to continue looking.
Ushio spoke quietly, “Every day I watch you on TV, and every day I think of how amazing you are. It’s seriously amazing that it’s your job. …But there are times that I don’t like it. That you don’t only belong to me, and that everyone is watching you. Sometimes it bothers me so much that I can’t watch anymore and I turn off the TV.”
“It’s true. …If I told you that I’d support you and asked you to quit TV, what would you do?”
“Not happening.” Kei’s reply was immediate. “If I don’t have people fawning over me, I’ll shrivel up and die.”
“I’ll fawn over you.”
“I don’t want that either.”
The cold gel pack in his hand had slowly softened up from the body heat.
“You don’t need to fawn over me. …And I don’t want you to. You’re the only one in world different from all the others.”
“I suppose there’s nothing I can do,” Ushio whispered as he gently touched Kei’s lips. “If you cheat on me again, you’re getting the German Suplex.”
And technically, it wasn’t cheating, it was a failed attempt at it.
“By the way, you have a pretty terrifying imagination. Is that the first thing that comes to your mind when I say ‘punishment?’ You freaked me out a little, you dirty pervert.”
“There was no way anyone would think that you would do the Boston Crab in that situation!!”
“But I don’t have an exhibitionist streak either.” Ushio guided Kei down onto the soft bed and smiled. “I could never show you to anyone.”
Ushio dropped the softened gel pack onto the floor and placed the chilled palm of Kei’s hand against his own cheek. “On the flight over here, I was tormented the entire time. I couldn’t move until the plane was parked and it was my turn to leave, I was delayed by an entire hour… I didn’t know what to think. But this part of it wasn’t your fault…”
“I’m sorry.” There was no blame in Ushio’s face or his voice, that was why Kei could apologize so earnestly. “I’m sorry…”
“It’s okay, I know.”
Ushio was so angry when Kei wouldn’t apologize to Tatsuki, but he was saying that he didn’t need one for himself.
They helped each other undress. When bare skin pressed up against each other, tender electric shocks broke out over Kei’s entire body.
Ushio simply held Kei for a while, not making a move. The tip of Ushio’s nose tickled his ear, and he could still feel traces of the cold from outside.
This is everything, Kei thought. This one thing is everything. If I think that it’s not enough, it’s only because I’ve lost sight of it. But it’s always right here next to me.
“I love you.”
It was the first time that Kei ever said these words.
“I love you. And not just half of me.”
Ushio gave a short “Nn” in response and nuzzled his head affectionately like an oversized pet.
This intimate, they could feel their hearts beating to the same rhythm, the tempo gradually getting faster. They were perfectly content in each other’s arms, and yet it made Kei happy to find a heated desire for each other growing between them. They kissed as they held each other, closing their eyes and locking their lips as everything fell away to create a little world of their own. They tangled themselves so deeply that their tongues and their teeth could have switched, and Kei could feel a profound need seeping all throughout his head and body, leaving its scent like the smoky embrace of a perfumed incense.
Ushio pressed kisses down in a line from Kei’s neck to his collarbone. When he wrapped his lips around Kei’s left nipple and sucked, Kei felt like his heart would also be sucked right out.
Ushio’s tongue traced a tiny circle along its edge, and the little redden bud swelled upwards like a droplet. Kei’s desire boiled from under the eager stretch of skin, teeth grazing and nibbling towards his abdomen as he gradually heated up.
When Ushio reached Kei’s cock, it shined obscenely from the precome that had leaked down the shaft, trembling and bobbing from only the warmth of Ushio’s breaths.
“Ah, I can’t…!”
The moment Ushio took him into his mouth, Kei could no longer hold himself back. In the space of one breath, his erection swelled and the nerves all over his body strained under a sharp pleasure like firing a cannon of pure desire—solid and dense, not in the least like a fluid.
“Ah! Ahh, ahhh…!”
Kei’s limbs went limp, but in return he could keenly feel his cock throbbing from the lingering memory of his release. It was nowhere near enough. He watched as Ushio reached over to grab the bottle of lube stored inside one of the drawers of the headboard, and he ached with arousal and expectation far beyond his cock.
“Turn your back towards me.”
“I can’t hold back, but I know I need to.”
Kei’s body was numb with lazy desire, but Ushio helped him over onto his stomach and lifted his bottom half up onto his knees. Kei spread his legs apart to get a better balance, but Ushio forced them together again and squeezed some lube over the area where his legs met his body.
Kei broke out into goosebumps, first from the coldness of the lube, then from arousal as Ushio slid his cock in the narrow space between Kei’s legs.
“Squeeze your legs together harder for me.”
The swollen thickness rubbed up against the most sensitive parts between his thighs. Kei gripped the bed sheets with both hands as he desperately took the rhythmic pounding thrusting up between his legs.
“No… Ah… Ahhhh…”
As Ushio thrust in and out of the makeshift hole, he inserted a finger covered with a thick, viscous fluid into the secret little hole further back. The finger easily made its way deep into Kei, stretching and caressing him from the inside.
“Ah! Ah! No, not like this…”
Sparks of pleasure burst from the areas under Ushio’s assault, causing Kei to pull away as a reflex, but an arm pulled him back as a second finger was added to his hole.
Ushio drove his frightfully hard cock against Kei so forcefully that Kei could hear the sounds of their flesh squelching loudly through the slickness of the lube.
“Even though you’re twitching so much for it?”
Ushio’s fingers were buried to the hilt inside of Kei, and as he pumped them shallowly in and out, Kei realized that his rim gasped incessantly around the fingers piercing him, just as Ushio had said.
“…God, you’re just begging for it.”
“I want to put it in. Ugh, I want to put it, then fuck you so hard until I come inside you. God, you’re frustratingly erotic; you drive me mad.”
Kei could sense the intensity of Ushio’s desire from the faltering of his voice and the hurried rhythm of his thrusts. The words were all too crude with honesty, and they rang with an almost keen sadness inside of Kei’s ears.
Ushio removed his fingers with a practiced ease, grabbing Kei’s hips with both hands so that he couldn’t go anywhere, and repeatedly drilled himself into the space between his thighs. Kei timed his own movements to match Ushio’s, sliding slickly against one another, and the scraping of his nipples against the sheets nearly overwhelmed him. Kei’s cock was once again so hard with arousal that it nearly hurt.
Kei could feel Ushio coming all over the underside of his cock. When the heat that was ravaging his flesh disappeared, it left behind a chill and a loneliness between his legs.
But then, shortly after…
Ushio dragged the slippery tip of his cock from behind Kei’s balls up towards his hole. Rubbing and grinding against that tiny space, Kei sensed that Ushio was ready to go once again. Ushio inserted his fingers back into Kei’s hole, and Kei shouted, “No,” whining loudly.
“I don’t… want…. your fingers…”
He didn’t need anymore of this excruciating foreplay and preparation.
“Fuck me, fuck me, fuck me.”
“Aren’t I fucking you with my fingers?”
It wasn’t all of Ushio. Kei’s body wanted everything that Ushio could give him. He wanted it so badly that tears started to fall again, even though they had just reduced the swelling of his eyes.
Ushio whispered, “Idiot,” as he gently rubbed Kei’s back. “I’ve been holding back because you’re still not stretched out enough. Don’t blame me if it hurts.”
Kei happily complied when Ushio said, “Spread your legs.” He wasn’t afraid of pain. He was more afraid of pure pleasure, that that if there was so much of it, he would lose himself, unable to return.
The thing that Kei wanted the most finally pushed into the place where he wanted it.
His eyes were open, but his field of vision became awash with white. His stretched out hole was certainly a little tight, but that would change once it accepted Ushio’s full girth.
“Ah, ah, ah, I’m gonna come—”
“Hey, don’t tighten up so much… Ngh…”
The hardness stroked up into Kei’s backside, swelling and penetrating, like the heat filling him was melting his inner walls. Pleasure bubbled inside him, building up in his cock, escaping from the tiny slit and bursting upon contact with the air.
Kei was exhausted, but that exhaustion probably fueled the need where they were joined, lusting and panting deeply for more. The pulsing of Ushio’s blood felt raw, closer than he’d ever felt it before, and Kei imagined that he could almost hear the pulses beating, buried deep from within his hole.
“Ahhh, fuck… I can’t hold on any longer…” Ushio huffed breathlessly. “God… I’m never gonna be able… to watch you normally on TV anymore… No matter how calm… and composed you look…”
“Idiot… Erase it… from your brain…”
Dammit, don’t make it harder for me to appear calm and composed on TV. How will you fix it if I make a broadcast mistake on air?
“You’re the idiot. That’s impossible for me.”
Ushio hammered his cock inside of Kei mercilessly. Kei could only surrender to the motions, writhing and squeezing down shamelessly on him.
“Ah, nnhh, Ushio, Ushio, yes, good…!”
“Kei— Touch yourself. Jack yourself off.”
Kei obediently stroked his come-covered cock. A joy continuously filled him, and it flowed and fueled him to the root, allowing himself to give in and swell up much easily than before.
“Ahhhh, nooo, ahhh…! Nhhh!!”
The pleasure was mutual and interdependent; the attention lavished on his cock only made him swallow down on Ushio more hungrily—clutching up tight, his hole sticky and soft.
“God, you feel so good,” Ushio moaned, a trance-like fervor in his voice. “—I’m about to lose my mind here.”
“Ahh, ahh, ah, come closer, ahhh, I can’t… hold on…nhh…”
His moans were like an SOS signal. And Ushio responded in full—thrusting hard and deep inside of him.
“…I love you—”
Whether Kei opened or closed his eyes, there was only a sea of endless light. The moment he released, it felt like his lower body was floating on air, no longer subject to the laws of gravity; and then he was pulled back down to Earth by a heavy impact, come pulsing and shooting inside of him.
Ushio said that he had a flight back to the U.S. in the evening. He had left his belongings there, rushing over with only the clothes on his back. And although his friend wasn’t particularly insistent, it didn’t sit well with Ushio to leave his work half finished.
You’re one to talk, Kei thought to himself. You’d never give up on your work either, even if I were to tell you that I’d support you.
Kei did his best to feign disinterest. “Hnnn,” he acknowledged. “What time’s your flight?”
Kei did a quick calculation in his head. If they left for the airport around 3, he’d have enough time to see Ushio off and return to the network for the broadcast tonight. With all of his accomplishments as Kunieda Kei, he could make an excuse for coming in late, that he didn’t feel well and wanted to stop by the hospital before coming into work, and it would probably be okay.
Ushio was yawning and stretching, completely ignorant to the plans that Kei had made. Kei really wanted to taunt him, It’s a date. A date! You better thank me, but it was more important for Kei to surprise him, and so he kept it to himself.
He needed to find a bathroom where he could discreetly change out of his disguise after seeing Ushio off. Then for his bag… He could store it in a coin locker. Where would be the best place with lockers?
It was a pain in the ass. It was a pain in the ass, but it didn’t bother Kei in the least. He would drag himself out of bed and leave the apartment with Ushio. They would take the train together to the airport. He would watch the planes take off and daydream a little. There was nothing particularly exciting about his plans, but Kei was thrilled with anticipation. Was it all for himself? Or maybe it was for Ushio?
But it didn’t matter. The answer was both of them and everything.
